Into 2021

A message from Bob Hyatt, January 2021

"As we move into 2021, many businesses are clearly taking time to consider & confirm forward strategies, including on property assets & investment plans. Nevertheless, market opportunities are arising, amid continuing general interest.

Commercial markets are polarised & remain sensitive to trends, sector pressures & the influences of location. They reflect, inevitably, the general economic circumstances & the continuing impacts of the pandemic.

The difficulties in the traditional high street, casual dining & leisure sectors are evident & well-publicised, but good activity is continuing in the industrial, logistics, health care & secondary retail sectors.

Notwithstanding all market elements, investor appetite is strong, across all sectors for properties showing the appropriate balance of return to security.

Given the quite exceptional circumstances, the emerging interest in opportunities bodes well for when the pressures, economic or viral, ease.”
